Study Finds Coyote Sterilization Program Successful

An article published by The Wildlife Society notes that the coyote sterilization program undertaken to stop coyote/red wolf hybridization has been successful in limiting genetic introgression in red wolves. This finding could have significant implications for the future of the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service’s red wolf recovery program in northeastern North Carolina.
