Welcome to the Red Wolf License Plate Initiative Campaign Page

Through this year-long campaign, we hope to build enough support by 2027 to help North Carolina motorists have the opportunity to apply for a Red Wolf specialty license plate! Through the purchase of a Red Wolf license plate, we can increase funding to help support the recovery efforts that surround Red Wolves living in northeastern North Carolina!

“North Carolina is proudly home to the only wild population of Red Wolves in the world. What better way to show your support for this critically endangered canid than the purchase of a beautiful Red Wolf license plate! The proceeds from the plate will give Red Wolf supporters the opportunity to have a direct and powerful impact on Red Wolf conservation by increasing the resources needed to support Red Wolf recovery. Show your pride for our state and majestic Red Wolves by proudly displaying a beautiful Red Wolf license plate on your vehicle,” says Kim Wheeler, Executive Director of the Red Wolf Coalition.

Our Goal & Your Impact

  • 300-500 applicants with fees paid needed by February 14th, 2027!
  • General Assembly majority vote needed after March 15th, 2027!
  • If passed, all proceeds will go to RWC for front line work such as coexistence efforts, field supplies, acclimation pens, educational outreach, and more!
